Hey, look at this it's Monday morning, I'm getting better at getting this list out. I am so thankful this week for so much...
1. For time with a great bunch of ladies last night shopping for gorgeous Silpada jewelry. Can't wait to finalize my order and receive it all. PS. if you are at all interested in placing an order let me know in the next two days; you'll have it by the end of next week and it ships directly to you.
2. Spending some time with my mom and Gary. Thankfully they were happy to come to our house for dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday dinner.
3. I hosted my monthly book club Friday night and it was a lovely evening with great conversation about The Book of Negroes. It's a fabulous book, a must read about the journey of one women stolen into slavery from Africa, her journey to southern USA and her journey back to Africa and ultimately to London. I highly recommend it.
4. Carpet Cleaning. I don't think I even need to expand on this one. Clean carpets just make the house feel clean, even if there is a layer of dust everywhere.
5. Finally having a playdate between Morgan and his friend Charlie. It ended up being a playtime at McDonald's before school, but at least it finally happened. I had a great chat with his mom, Claire, and am looking forward to the next one.
6. Doug and I have also started tackling our home improvement list with a couple of simple things, like a new doorbell, numbers for the house, and hooks for the kids to hang up their coats themselves. It's amazing how even the little things make a difference. We also put together a plan for some of the bigger improvements to happen in the spring and summer. I love having things to look forward too.
7. And for the feeling of Christmas. I've been looking forward to Christmas this year, started shopping a month ago, and this week I pulled out the decorations, put out my favorite ones (donated the ones I don't love anymore) and Doug got the lights up on the house. I love the greenery, the lights (especially all of the candles I light this time of year), the reds and metallics. Oh so pretty.
So this week, as we begin the advent to Christmas, I hope you will all have a month of thankfulness and gratitude for things around us.
