"What? I'm 7 Now!"

So this morning, Morgan eats a big bowl of cereal and then asks for more. Doug said, "really? you're still hungry?" because one bowl usually is good for Morgan, but today he replied, "What? I'm 7 now!" like we should have known his appetite should have been expected. Man that kid makes me laugh.

And so here we are with our first born turning 7 already. We celebrated with a Lego themed party yesterday as Lego is Morgan's most favourite thing these days (well after hockey anyway). So it was Lego spoon races, Lego bingo, and a Lego building competition with 10 of his buddies at our house.

I didn't have a whole lot of time to snap photos, but I did get some shots of some of the creations the kids made.

The cake turned out okay...it didn't look perfect, but it tasted mighty yummy. It was way harder to make then I every would have thought. The bumps on top are mini Oreos dipped in icing.

But my marshmallow Lego pops turned out perfectly. If you ever make these don't bother with the Wilton edible writers they don't work at all, but I bought some black icing in a tube, thinned it with water and used it like paint.

And although the party was crazy loud and some were very difficult and I have sworn off home parties for the boys from now on, his smile made it all worth it.

Wow,you've reached seven. Seven has been interesting here - so much more 'big boy' than six. But that might be partly because E started grade two at about the same time.

Love your Lego pops and cake! You're right about boy parties - they tend to be kinda out of control.
